Cups
Upright Meaning
A cloaked figure stares at three spilled cups in the foreground while two upright cups stand unnoticed behind, and across a dark river a castle waits — the Five of Cups is the truth of grief. Something is lost and the loss is real; do not rush yourself past it. And: not everything is gone. When you are ready, turn around. The bridge home is still there.
Reversed Meaning
The figure turns — grief beginning to integrate, forgiveness becoming possible, the two remaining cups finally seen. Or the refusal to turn hardens: mourning that has become identity, a wound rehearsed until it is a home.
