✦ Ancient Wisdom
The I Ching is the world's oldest continuously used text, compiled around 1000 BCE — predating most religious scriptures and in active use for 3,000 unbroken years.
Carl Jung used the I Ching extensively and coined "synchronicity" partly to explain how it works — the meaningful coincidence of an inner question and an outer oracle.
Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, inventor of binary arithmetic, studied the I Ching. The 64 hexagrams are binary code — each is a unique 6-bit sequence, 0 to 63.
The I Ching was used to design major public policy decisions in ancient China — consulted by emperors before military campaigns, treaty negotiations, and civil reforms.
There are exactly 64 hexagrams. There are exactly 64 codons in the human genetic code. This correspondence was discovered in 1966, more than 2,900 years after the I Ching was compiled.
